OK so it’s the first part of December 2020 and a buddy of mine and I are already talking about jamming outside this coming summer.  It’s one of our favorite things to do.  We get together start a nice little fire in the fire pit and drink adult beverages while picking away on our acoustics.  The problem is that we live in an area that is known as the “Great Black Swamp” in Northwest Ohio.  Honestly in order to keep this area drained there are more miles of ditches draining this area than there are miles of roads to drive on. So, the official bird of the area is the mosquito.  They are insane here.  Last year I discovered this sweet little item.  It’s called a Thermacell Radius.  Now these little items apparently were designed originally for hunters and outdoors types, but it has since been refined into this little item.  We love it.  Apparently, mosquitos don’t like the chrysanthemum plant.  The Thermacell heats up and disperses a scent that smells like chrysanthemum that only skeeters can smell and keeps them away.  It works in a radius big enough for my jam buddy and I to keep from getting eaten up all night.  Now I really don’t want to sound like an ad for this thing, but I suppose that’s what this is.  I’ve recommended this product to tons of other people as a result of my use.  If you have a mosquito population in the summer that’s keeping you from jamming outside on those beautiful summer nights get one of these things and fire it up.
